The X Factor’s Simon Cowell’s ‘Hot Dog’ Ad
Known for his tart tongue and brutal honesty, Simon Cowell reigns as the king of mean on the hit reality show The X Factor. But there’s something that gets the brassy judge even hotter under the collar than wannabe pop stars’ singing off-key does – dogs left in cars on warm days! That’s why compassionate Cowell, who first worked with PETA when he posed for an anti-fur ad last year, is teaming up with PETA again to remind the public not to park their pups in cars when it’s warm outside.
“Far be it from me to be critical, but I find it really appalling that this year, thousands of dogs will die of heatstroke inside parked cars”, says Simon, in light of recent sweltering temperatures.
On a 26-degree day, the temperature inside a shaded car is 32 degrees, while the inside of a car parked in the sun can reach 71 degrees in minutes. When left in cars on warm days, animals can succumb to heatstroke in just minutes. Check out more tips for keeping canines cool during the “dog days” of summer.
